How 10-Heart Events Lead to Marriage

What changed in version 1.0

Full release raises the NPC heart cap to 10 and adds the proposal-and-wedding progression that was not complete during Early Access. Reaching 10 hearts while dating is both a relationship milestone and the start of the Engagement Ring recipe flow.

The official Steam achievement True Love uses the condition “Reach ten hearts with a romanceable villager that you are dating.” Version 1.0.3 later improved how reliably achievements including True Love pop at the moment they are earned.

From 10 hearts to a proposal

1. Date an eligible romanceable villager.
2. Raise that relationship to 10 hearts.
3. Check the next morning for Elsie’s Engagement Ring recipe delivery.
4. Use the recipe scroll and craft the ring at a Forge.
5. Use the ring to revisit eligible 10-heart proposal events until you choose one.
6. Confirm the engagement choices and continue into wedding planning.

Engagement Ring and commitment boundary

The Engagement Ring is more than a recipe reward: it is the mechanism used to retrigger the new proposal events before a final choice. Replaying an eligible proposal event is not the same as being married. The commitment step comes when the player chooses a proposal and confirms the engagement flow.

Review the relationship-status option before confirming engagement if you want handling different from the default status change for other dating relationships. The setting belongs at that decision point; it is not a post-wedding repair switch.

What comes after 10 hearts

Wedding planning includes confirmed customization choices such as flower color, cake flavor and reception meal. Since v1.0.3, festival setup days Spring 14, Fall 7 and Winter 7 cannot be selected as wedding days.

After marriage, children remain optional. The Mystical Feather event belongs to the following weeks and should not be treated as part of the 10-heart event itself.
