Direct Answer

To get married in Fields of Mistria, date an eligible NPC, reach 10 hearts, receive and learn the Engagement Ring recipe from Elsie, craft the ring at a Forge, and use it to enter a 10-heart proposal event. Committing to a proposal starts the engagement and wedding-planning flow.

Requirements

  • Be dating an eligible NPC.
  • Raise that relationship to 10 hearts.
  • Progress on version 1.0 or later, where proposal events, weddings and marriage are available.
  • Leave room in your plan to review engagement relationship settings before confirming the proposal if you are dating multiple NPCs.

Step by step

  1. Date the person you want to marry. The proposal recipe flow is tied to a character you are already dating.
  2. Reach 10 hearts. Version 1.0 raises the relationship cap and adds 10-heart proposal events.
  3. Sleep and check Elsie’s delivery the next morning. She sends the Engagement Ring recipe after you reach Heart Level 10.
  4. Use the recipe scroll. Receiving the scroll and learning the recipe are separate steps.
  5. Craft the Engagement Ring at a Forge. The official patch notes confirm the station but do not publish the material list used by this guide.
  6. Use the ring for a 10-heart proposal event. The ring can retrigger these events, allowing you to view events and collect the related special items before choosing a proposal.
  7. Confirm the engagement when ready. After commitment, wedding-planning dialogue lets you choose details such as flower color, cake flavor and the meal served at the reception.

Multiple dating relationships and engagement settings

By default, other characters you were dating change to Best Friends after engagement. Version 1.0 adds two separate settings during the engagement tutorial flow:

  • One option hides break-up letters and the follow-up lines that acknowledge the status change, but does not prevent the relationship change itself.
  • A different option disables the Dating-to-Best-Friends status change. It must be enabled before confirming the engagement to take effect.

Read the option wording carefully before committing. Changing only the letter/dialogue setting is not the same as preventing the default relationship-status change.

Wedding and post-marriage details

Wedding planning supports choices that personalize the event rather than changing the eligibility path. NPC Studio specifically identifies flower color, cake flavor and the reception meal as examples. Version 1.0 also adds engagement dialogue, wedding events, post-marriage dialogue and new NPC routines.

Children are a later optional system. In the weeks following marriage, the Mystical Feather can become available through a cutscene and open a family-planning conversation.

Common problems

  • The recipe has not arrived: confirm the character is someone you are dating, that the relationship reached 10 hearts, and that you checked the following morning.
  • The Forge does not show the ring: make sure you used the delivered recipe scroll before checking the crafting list.
  • A proposal event is not the one you expected: the Engagement Ring is designed to retrigger 10-heart proposal events until you choose a proposal.
  • Other dating statuses changed: review which of the two engagement settings was enabled and whether it was set before confirmation.
